I LOVED reading Sixty Acres and a Bride by Regina Jennings so much (so far it is one of my favorites of the year!) that I thought it would be the perfect book to give away!
About Sixty Acres and a Bride:
With nothing to their names, young widow Rosa Garner and her mother-in-law return to Texas and the family ranch. Only now the county is demanding back taxes and the women have only three months to pay. Though facing eviction, Rosa can't keep herself from falling in love with the countryside and the wonderful extended family who want only her best. Learning the American customs is not easy, however, and this beautiful young widow can't help but catch wandering eyes. Where some offer help with dangerous strings attached, only one man seems honorable. But when Weston Garner, still grieving his own lost love, is unprepared to give his heart, to what lengths will Rosa go to save her future?

My dad has always been a huge fan of westerns. I am always trying to get him to read paranormal and fantasy stories. This story is very different from what I usual read but it does sound really good. And the fact that it is a western but it has a strong heroine instead of the typical cowboy hero.
ReplyDeleteI love historicals about our great country and the trials and sacrificies the pioneer had to overcome. I have on my wish list and looking forward to reading.

I think the part that interests me the most is that Rosa has to try and learn American customs. I always wonder how it would be for me if I had to go to another country and adapt to their customs and culture. And who doesn’t love to tough cowgirl!
ReplyDeleteThe cover caught my eye first, but it sounds like a good book too. Thank you for the giveaway! :o)
ReplyDeleteI love the colorful color, and the story line sounds epic! It sounds really similiar to A Bride in the Bargain by Deeanne Gist. Have you read that one? Thanks for the giveaway!

There's some thing about a story where people face adversity that makes it understandable why they can build a solid relationship. And a beautiful setting is appreciated too.
